This simple soap dish is made up of a wide variety of wood types, may include, but not limited to:
African mahogany, beech, maple, cherry, white oak, red oak, Spanish cedar, ash, hickory, alder, poplar, walnut...etc...They are intentionally made out of a variety of contrasting colors - each one is uniquely colorful and one-of-a-kind.
This dish has a generous deck size of 3 inches by 4-1/8 inches by approximately 3/8" inch thick - plenty large enough for handcrafted or store bought bar soaps. The top planks are approximately 1/8" thick. This dish has been finely sanded on all surfaces and edges.

a soap dish significantly extends the life of a bar of soap - but did you know that you can also extend the life of your soap dish? Use your soap dishes in pairs to extend the life of the dish - use one dish for 2-3 weeks, and then wipe it clean with a damp cloth and set aside to allow it to fully dry out. Use the 2nd dish for 2-3 weeks while the first dish is drying out. Alternating wood soap dishes this way will prevent mold and mildew from developing and growing on your dish and greatly extend the life of the dish.
